About Us

The Heber Elementary School District (HESD) is a two school site district serving transitional kindergarten through eighth grade students. Dogwood Elementary houses transitional kindergarten through third grade students and fourth through eighth grade students attend Heber School.  HESD schools have received national and state recognitions for academic excellence. For four consecutive school years, both schools have been named Honor Roll Schools by the California Businesses for Excellence in Education as well as receiving the Title I Academic Achievement Awards.  Heber School received national recognition as a high performing model middle school and was named a “Schools to Watch” school.

Strategic Goals

Strategic Goals (Three Year Plan 2015-2018)

  1. Improve student academic achievement in English-Language Arts and Mathematics.
  2. Improve academic achievement for English learners with emphasis on Long-Term English Learners.
  3. Integrate Science Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) instruction.
  4. Develop, recruit, and retain high performing staff.
  5. Pass a Bond measure to build a gymnasium.
